Cole invented the Black Mountain Thumb Pick while working as a full-time guitar teacher. After trying hundreds of picks and deciding there was room for improvement, he began experimenting with a spring. That idea led to the spring-loaded Thumb Pick used today. Black Mountain Thumb Picks are now sold in music stores around the world.
