Black Mountain Thumb Picks
Our thumb pick is built for musicians who enjoy playing with their fingers (fingerstyle) but also enjoy playing with a pick (flatpicking).
Players love the Black Mountain Pick because it feels like a regular guitar pick, but it also feels like a traditional thumb pick.

First Thumb Pick in the World to Use a Spring!
This patented new technology offers several advantages over traditional thumb picks.
1) The spring allows the pick to be flexible so it feels like a regular guitar pick
2) The spring clamps the thumb ring around the player's thumb creating a perfect balance between comfort and stability.
BUILT FOR PERFORMANCE WHETHER YOU'RE A BEGINNER OR A PRO!!!
These slides are great. Once I tried it, I was hooked. I haven’t been able to put it down. So much fun. Thanks for a great product!!!
"A very comfortable design"
Great design. Works well as both a thumbpick and flatpick. The spring-loaded hinge applies just enough pressure to hold the pick securely on my thumb without squeezing it too tight. A very comfortable design.
"Part of my hand now"
They immediately felt natural as a thumb pick. It took me about a week to become accustomed to them for flat picking, but once I did, I'm every bit as fast as I was with a flat pick. Furthermore, they corrected a problem I'd had for years where I'd use the side of my thumb as a depth guide, which led to problems on the low E string. Anyway, this thing is like part of my hand now.
"One pick to rule them all!"
Love the Black Mountain pick. Great to be able to mix flat picking and
finger picking in a song without having to figure out where to hold the flat pick! The combined function of this pick is brilliant!
One pick to rule them all!
Made for guitar players, by a guitar teacher
The Black Mountain Thumb Pick was invented by Cole McBride — a full time guitar teacher.
He was looking for the perfect pick for his students as well as himself. After playing hundreds of different picks, he decided there was room for innovation and he set out to invent a new kind of plectrum.
He spent a lot of time experimenting with different designs, and then, the idea of a spring sprung into his mind!
